once we believe in ourselves we can risk curiosity, wonder, spontaneous delight, or any experience that reveals the human spirit

Hi, I'm Caroline (柯若蘭)

When I was a junior in college, I decided, with no previous Chinese language experience, to move to Shanghai, China for a semester and study intensive Mandarin. As the only beginning level student in the program, I was the only one without a Chinese name. Since traditional Chinese culture prizes intentionality in name giving, my teacher waited weeks before settling on 柯若蘭, which means "to be like an orchid."

Orchids grow almost everywhere in the world, have the largest variety of documented flower species on record, and are incredibly resilient. Like an orchid, I'm a global go-getter with a wide range of interests, and I'm not afraid to take the road less traveled. In fact, I crave it.

I'm currently the Women@HubSpot Program & Brand Manager (and former Culture Content Creator) at HubSpot, a global software company, where I focus on inbound recruiting, employer branding, and diversity and inclusion programming. Previously, I served as a Fulbright Fellowship grantee in Taiwan, as a communications and nutrition program assistant at the UN World Food Programme in Cambodia, and as an intern at the White House for the First Lady's Let's Move! Initiative.

A Georgetown University graduate with a degree in health sciences, I'm passionate about wellness (nutrition and exercise), entrepreneurship, and the Jesuit ideal of social justice. Originally from Cape Cod (the few, the proud), I now live in Boston, where you'll find me hiking, cooking, or planning my next adventure.
